measuring Stumps
A simple measurement will help determine what's involved with your stump removal project. To correctly measure the diameter (width) of a stump for grinding, measure at the widest point where the stump or root touches the ground. DO NOT measure the top of the stump. If the ground rises to the stump, then the measurement has to extend past the rise to allow for grinding to a level grade.
